Nigel Simpson, Managing Partner and CEO

Nigel Simpson has co-founded Marquis with a career spanning over twenty five years successfully designing, customizing and implementing integrated state-of-the-art trading, risk and portfolio management systems for leading market participants including such firms as State Street Bank, HSBC, Freddie Mac, Northern Trust, Jefferies, and several Federal Home Loan Banks.

Nigel’s practical domain expertise spans a broad spectrum of functionality including trade capture, pricing, market risk management, credit risk analysis, documentation, accounting, settlement, market data, counterparty static, audit controls, collateral management, and cash management.

Nigel is the managing partner at Marquis and has the responsibility for driving the consulting practice by providing strategic business. Nigel holds a BSc in Computer Science with a minor in Accounting from The University of the West Indies and Certificate in Derivatives Pricing from New York University.

Sanjay Vithlani, Managing Partner

Sanjay Vithlani has co-founded Marquis after twenty five years of experience in investment banking and banking technology. Sanjay started his career in London where he worked with major financial institutions including Barclays, WestLB and Nat West Bank. More recently in the USA for market leaders including Merrill Lynch, Société General, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Northern Trust and HSBC.

Sanjay has an in-depth understanding of derivative products and extensive experience in trading applications, risk management and operational processes. Sanjay is responsible for strategic technology guidance for all client projects. Sanjay holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and a MSc in Computer Science.

Horace McCormack, PhD, Managing Partner, Jamaica

Horace McCormack is an executive consultant & trainer based in Jamaica where he has responsibility for those services, as well, as marketing and Business Development and client relationship management. Horace has over 25 years of experience in serving a range of companies and governments in several industry sectors including finance. He has specialized experience with management and leadership development.

Extensive experience with Strategy, Design, Development & Implementation and Continuous Improvement techniques in the Caribbean and the USA. A former leader of Deloitte LLP in JA, he is experienced in change management, process improvement and organizational development projects. Horace holds qualifications in Electrical Engineering and Management from UTECH and UWI. He also holds a BSc in Industrial & Systems Engineering and an MBA from New York University along with a PhD in Management. He is a Past District Governor of Rotary International.

Shannon Goldrick, Managing Partner

Shannon Goldrick’s career has spanned 30 years in banking and finance. She has spent the last 22 years working for Finastra. Her roles included designing workflows and solutions, customizing and implementing integrated state-of-the-art trading, risk and portfolio management solutions for leading market participants including such firms as Fannie Mae,  Freddie Mac, Northern Trust, Federal Home Loan Banks, World Bank, International Finance Corporation, Banco de Bogota and Credit Agricole

Shannon’s domain expertise spans a broad spectrum of functionality including trade capture, pricing, real-time credit monitoring, credit risk analysis, documentation, sub and general ledger accounting, settlement, market data, counterparty static, audit controls, collateral management, STP and cash management.

Shannon holds a BA in Accounting. She spent her early career managing the Operations and Accounting for Bank One Treasury Management, as well as retail and construction accounting

Pavan Kumar Narendra, Director, India

Pavan Kumar Narendra is the technical lead, based in India with more than 20 years’ experience in the software industry. Pavan started his career in embedded systems, doing assembly and C programming. He then worked in FinTech for quite a while. Pavan then moved away from FinTech to join a web-based startup which was then acquired by Walmart.

Pavan has in-depth knowledge of the cloud. He has designed many robust, fault-tolerant, and large scale, low latency distributed systems using both traditional RDMS and No-SQL Databases. Pavan holds a MSEE degree from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville..

Gengfeng (Tiger) Liu, CTO

Gengfeng (Tiger) Liu began his career over 22 years ago in China. He has spent his career focusing on professional software development for several industries, design and development of relational databases, designing, implementing, and testing softeware. He has strong analysis, design, problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Gengfeng uses his in-depth knowledge of software development life cycle, comprehensive knowledge in real-time transaction and distributed computing technologies, hands-on experience in system architectures for client/server applications, n-tier applications, B/S applications and database design to assist our clients to meet their needs and improve efficiency in workflows.

In his early career, he co-designed and built the most popular security softwares in China which had over a million registered users. He has led many teams in his career in several industries, including security, taxation, telecom, medical and financial. More recently he uses his unique skillset to develop applications that allow our clients to best utilize their current systems, reducing costs, reducing risks and improving quality.

Gengfeng holds a Bachelor of Computer Science/Software Engineering and MBA focused on IT enterprise management from Southeast University, which is ranked #6 based on USNews in 2020. He also holds his PMP certification by OCJP and ITCPMP. He is proficient in many development languages and frameworks including C/C++, Java, Javascript, C#, QT, VB/VBS, Python, Delphi/Pascal, AngularJS, VUEJS and many others. He is also very knowledgeable in databases such as Oracle, SyBase, DB2 and SQL Server and has excellent experience with DB performance tuning.

Payal Pajwani, Human Resources

Payal has over 20 years of generalist Human Resources experience across various industries and across different countries and cultures including Europe and the US.

She held a high esteemed positions withing the executive management team at Laing O'Rourke and prior to that was a key member of various flagship store openings for the UK chain Boots the Chemists.

Her recent experience includes two prestigious boutique IT consultancy firms in New York. An Economist graduate, Payal went on to attain a Masters degree in Human Resources from the renowned London School of Economics in London, UK.

Payal is a mother of two children and actively volunteers in school including committed attendance at Board meetings and numerous PTA events throughout the year.
